Aims and Objects of the Society

The aims and objects of the Society are as under:

1. The aims and objectives of society are in the area of promotion of literary, scientific, activities of charitable nature, a nonprofit organization. The society is nonprofit organization for promoting literary, scientific and recreational activities and registered under the Societies registration acts, 1860 (21 of 1860) as amended from time to time.
2. DIPM Council activities are to ensure safer technology in every area of human life related to defence of human beings from unsolicited/ unknown risks in the environment. This includes reducing risks to human life and enhanced safety from enemy action or faulty and unsustainable practices in infrastructure planning/ design and execution, safety of work force at places of work, safer road design, road and vehicular safety, preventive measures for minimization of casualties and injuries in road accidents etc. To achieve these objectives DIPM Council, to take actions on following suggested frame work though not exhaustive and may include similar other activities as approved by the members of the society.
3. To organise National and International Technical Seminars/Conferences/Workshops on technology and development in various disciplines of Engineering, Management, science, sustainability, innovations etc.
4. Organise expert lectures on various aspects of technology development, management etc.
5. Organise social events with participation of members, guests and their families.
6. Promoting technical excellence of individuals, organisations, corporate, infrastructure companies and selection for awards under various categories as decided from time to time.
7. Publish DIPM Technical Journal of International Standards at various intervals and distributing it among members, institutions, Government Departments, General Public etc.
8. To purchase/acquire the land and/or the building in the name of the Society and to make construction/renovation thereupon.
9. To do such other activities/things/act which are necessary and which may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of any of the objects of the Society.
10. To encourage, employ or hire appropriate staff workers, legal experts and other professionals, attorneys, managers and agents for the work and furtherance of the aims and objects of the society and to pay their wages, salaries, stipend or fees, reimbursement of expenditure on travel , lodging , boarding etc , including to the members of the council.
11. All the activities shall be non-profitable and shall be done on “No Profit-No Loss” basis.
12. All the incomes, earnings, movable/immovable properties of the society shall be solely utilised and applied towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set forth in the Memorandum of Association of the society and no profit thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus, profits or in any manner whatsoever to the present or past members of the society or to any person claiming through any or more of the present or the past members.  No member of the society shall have any personal claim on any movable or immovable properties of the society or to make any profits, whatsoever, by virtue of his membership.
13. To promote Defence infrastructure innovation, support and expenditure on activities of IDSE (Indian Defence Service of Engineers) cadre for furtherance of IDSE interest.
14. To promote interface between various disciplines related to built environment on one hand, the Construction Industry and the Government on the other.
15. To promote improved systems of administration, planning, design, construction, operation, use and maintenance of built environment.
16. To promote conservation and up-gradation of eco-environment.
17. To promote the use of appropriate technology and building materials to enhance quality, productivity and affordability.
18. To disseminate the knowledge of built environment to others.
19. To provide  consultancy in the area of design, construction and maintenance and allied subjects to other organisation and Government of India purely on voluntary, advisory and in honorary capacity on no profit basis except reimbursement of actual expenses by way of  fee, remuneration etc.
20. To organise training and conduct workshops.
21. To affiliate with similar national, international organisations, associations, societies etc in furtherance of its cause.
22. To obtain grants from Government or any other organisations to fulfill its objectives.
23. To issue certificates/ validation/ vetting of design, execution of engineering projects of any nature, visits of experts of the DIPM Council to sites as 3rd party validation on various compliances and issue necessary certificates of compliance for use by them in promoting their projects/ activities, as decided by the President of the society.
24. Opening of technical cells, Student Chapters, innovation cells /centers in various institutes, academic institutions, enrolling students as members, supporting, organizing their activities, financing such activities, taking membership fee in accounts of DIPM Council, disbursement of expenditure on such activities etc by entering in to MoU, Memorandum of understanding with the institute/ Institutes, organisations, companies etc as decided by the President of the society.
